John is the recipient of over two hundred award of merit for his art, including the Grumbacher Gold Medal, Robb Sagendorph Award, The Frank Dumond Memorial Award for Best Light and Atmospheric Effects. He is a member of the Hudson Valley Art Association, the Salmagundi Club of New York, the National Society of Mural Painters and he is a Copley Master in the Copley Society of Boston.

I first met John when he was a sixteen year old art student who had come to Stowe for the summer to study painting. In the thirty years since our first meeting I have seen John's evolution from student to nationally recognized artist. It gives me great pleasure to present his first one-man exhibition in Stowe!
